RSS GradStat exams 2017

This year I'm hoping to finish off the Royal Statistical Society Graduate Diploma in statistics. If I don't do it this year, I never will - the exams are being withdrawn. I've already passed the Probability Distributions and the Stochastic modelling / time series courses. So the remaining exams are: Statistical Inference; Modelling Experimental Data; and Topics in Applied Statistics. I've studied bits of this stuff in detail in the past (but mostly in R rather than by hand), but have never had to cram for exams. So I'm going to put some notes relating to the modules up here.
